Arbor Day Celebration
With our Stay-At-Home order extended through the end of May, the City of Plymouth will not hold it’s annual Tree City Celebration in honor of Arbor Day, April 24, 2020.
Plymouth has been a Tree City for over 20 years by meeting the four standards to become a Tree City USA: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day Observance. The Arbor Day Foundation has this message to share:
While Arbor Day in years past was a time for volunteering and community events, this year is very different. BUT THE SPIRIT OF ARBOR DAY IS STILL STRONG. Head to Celebrate Arbor Day for ideas and resources to help you celebrate Arbor Day in these ever-changing times, including a fun social media opportunity with #arbordayathome.
Post a photo of your favorite tree, use the hashtag #arbordayathome, and tag the Arbor Day Foundation. We’ll plant a tree on your behalf in one of our nation’s forests…up to 50,000 trees!
