Railroad Petition and Report Filed with the Office of the Commissioner of Railroads
On June 25, 2019, Wisconsin Railroad Consulting & Mediation, on behalf of the City of Plymouth, submitted a formal petition and report requesting that the Office of the Commissioner of Railroads (OCR) investigate the adequacy of warning devices and issue an appropriate order for six (6) crossings within the corporate limits of the City of Plymouth. The City also asked the Commissioner to remove the existing ‘exempt’ status for South Street, Highland Avenue, and Pleasant View Road.
The railroad consultant hired by the City of Plymouth is recommending stop signs at E. Clifford Street and Willow Road (with an LED flashing stop sign). In addition, the consultant recommended automatic flashing lights with or without gates at Pleasant View Road and Highland Avenue along with flashing lights and gates at the South Street crossing.
